I already gave out my bank credentials. What now?
Answer first
Phone your bank now. Take the number from the back of your card or from your own online bank, not from the message or the call.
Act immediately even if you do not yet know whether the credentials were used. The bank and police can investigate without you having to work that out first.
The first call goes to your bank. Minutes matter, because the bank can stop payments and block the card.
The second step is the police report. The bank or insurer may ask for its details while handling the case.
The third step is changing passwords, the most important first. Change your email password first, because it can be used to reset passwords for other services.
