These steps can help limit the damage in your situation.
Start with your bank if you gave out credentials or card details, or if you made a payment. Work through the other steps as they apply to you.
Open the guidance that fits your situation
If more than one item applies, go through each of them.
- You gave out bank or card detailsContact your bank immediately.
- You allowed remote access or installed an appDisconnect the device.
- You gave out a password or credentialChange it from another device.
- You gave out an identity code or documentSet up a voluntary credit ban.

Act on each situation that applies
Contact your bank
If you gave out bank credentials or card details, or made a payment, contact your bank. The bank can freeze the card and stop payments.
Banks and public authorities do not ask for bank credentials or confirmation codes by email, text message or telephone. Source
If a caller or message asks for your credentials, end the contact and check the matter with your bank yourself.
Cut the remote connection
If you let somebody take control of your computer, disconnect it from the network. If you do not know how, turn the device off.
Change your passwords from a different device, your phone for instance. If you change them on the same computer, the other party can see the new ones.
Remove the requested app, install updates and run a full security scan. Source
If the scammer had administrator rights or you do not know what they did, wiping the device and reinstalling its operating system is the most reliable clean start. Source
Change your passwords
Start with your email, because many other account passwords can be reset through it. Then secure your bank account and the services that hold your card details.
Do not use the same password in two places. Turn on two-step verification where the service offers it. Source
Protect your personal details
If you gave your personal identity code or a copy of your identity document to the wrong person, enter a free voluntary credit ban in the Positive Credit Register. Source
You can also allow the register to pass the credit ban to Suomen Asiakastieto and Dun & Bradstreet.
Send a written notice about the order
If the seller says a contract was made, send the company a written notice. You can copy the text under “Notice about the order”.
Keep the message you send. It shows when you cancelled the order.
The phone sales page explains why a call alone usually does not bind you.
Report it to the police
A criminal report can be made in the online service of Poliisi (the police) or at a police station. In non-urgent situations the police recommend the electronic report. In an emergency, call 112. Source
poliisi.fi explains how to make the report.
Notice about the order
Use this if you did not accept the offer or want to withdraw in any event. Fill in the parts in square brackets and send it to the company's customer service.
The message is in Finnish for a business in Finland. An English translation follows.

New calls or messages
If you receive another call or message, do not give out credentials or pay because of it. Check the matter in the organisation's own service or through a number you find yourself.
You do not have to answer an unknown number. Ending a call is not rude.
Where to get help
If you need help, ask someone you trust to join the calls and password changes.
These are general steps. Kuluttajaneuvonta will assess your own situation and advise you on the dispute.
