How do I spot a scam call?

The number on your screen cannot verify the caller. End the call and check the matter in the organisation's own app or through its published number.

The displayed number can be spoofed. A familiar number alone therefore does not verify the caller.

Urgency, threats, a request for secrecy or a demand to act during the call are warning signs.

A bank or public authority does not ask for bank credentials or confirmation codes over the phone. Approve only a confirmation request linked to a transaction you started yourself.

You can end the call without explaining and check the matter yourself.
