Why do scammers call me in particular?

Scam calls are made in large numbers, and a call usually does not mean the caller knows you.
Scam calls can target large lists of phone numbers. A personal tone does not prove that the caller knows you or that the information they give is correct.
The number shown on your screen can be spoofed. Blocking one number can help with nuisance calls, but it cannot stop the same caller from presenting a different number.
If you have already lost money, be prepared for another contact that promises to recover it in exchange for a fee or credentials.
That is the same scam from the other direction. Nobody recovers your money by asking you for your credentials.
