The box tells you about features, not about how long they last. So the fact that matters most usually has to be dug out of the manufacturer’s site.
The support period is a concrete comparison point. Without updates, security problems found later may remain unfixed.
EU security requirements have applied to internet-connected radio equipment since 1 August 2025. A stated support period is still useful when comparing products.
Four questions are enough in the shop. If the seller cannot answer them, ask the manufacturer before you pay.
